It brings me no pleasure to be at the computer at 3 am, for soon morning will come and I will need to go to work and I will go wearily. But here I am, a watchman on the wall that is staring into the darkness, because I know something is not right.
Perhaps it has always been not right, perhaps I have only recently become aware of what is not right. Does that lessen the danger? I don’t know. My hackles are up. Does this make me more likely to perceive danger, risk, and outliers? I feel like NEO seeing cracks in the code, but I also feel like his shipmate who just wanted to go back to blissful ignorance.
People who love me are worried about me. Am I stalking shadows? Have I forgotten how to relax, to enjoy life, to be my fun-loving self? No, I still love fun and I love sleep…yet both are hard to come by these days.
This week, there were more cracks in the code. The federal reserve admitted to breaking the law. A brave whistleblower nailed a prediction on silver market manipulation while the “watchdog” agencies yawned and did nothing, zero news broke on the subject from any station. Further light has been shed on recently passed legislation and the corrupt and hidden aspects would make a sailor blush. And perhaps the oddest bit of news, the traditional media giants have lost half their audience yet they refuse to report meaningful news and they persist in serving as the government’s propoganda arm, reporting fluff that no one believes in as if it were credible news.
“CNN executives have steadfastly said that they will not change their approach to prime-time programs“
Corruption and hidden deals are not new in politics or power, I get that. What is new is the brazenness. It begs the question, why are the criminal politicians, stock market manipulators, and media moguls being so bold? John 3:19 states that “men love darkness better than light because their deeds are evil.” So why now, are they bringing their evil deeds into the light?
Are they trying to foment violence? Are they seeing what they can get away with? Would a currency collapse triggered by a lack of confidence in the soundness of money and government somehow serve their interests?
I don’t know, but it keeps me up at night…

Cartoon Network has more viewers than CNN these days. Is it b/c people are fed up with the MSM spinning stories or is it b/c people no longer care what happens to their country?
In 1 Timothy 5:8 men are instructed to provide for their relatives and immediate family. What keeps you and I awake are the forces that endanger the well-being and future of our families: federal debt, financial crimes, education system, healthcare, violence in society, geo-political status, food/nutrition, etc. For the first time since the inception of our republic, the current generation may leave the country in worse shape than it inherited.
The biggest question for our generation is how to best provide for our families from a biblical perspective. What are our choices? Repair the current system, take on the establishment or become a traveler, a pilgrim to new lands and re-establish a community worthy of freedom, liberty, and respect for biblical principles. Like the Clash sang “Should I stay or should I go?”
The biggest question for our country and the brazen corrupt leadership is “Sed quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” (translated: Who will guard the custodians or who will guard the guards?)
JD, well put. I think it is a safe assumption that we will be leaving the country in worse shape than we inherited it. I would really like to see them left with a framework that includes freedom of speech, religion, and the pursuit of happiness. I see those freedoms being eroded and it grieves me.
Your closing question is spot on and the time to hold them accountable and push for a radical reduction in the size and scope of federal government, back to constitutionally defined size that is…is now. For freedom, opportunity, and time are all use em or lose em by nature.
Interesting post from researcher Chris Martenson essentially stating that he has ZERO trust in the news these days because nothing makes sense anymore, historical relationships are broken in an unprecedented and disturbing manner.
