How bad is the current crisis going to get?

Many people are slowly becoming aware of the deteriorating state of the economy and political stability around the world and they are beginning to wonder.

“How bad is it going to get?”

My discrete answer is it will be as bad as it needs to in order to fulfill Jesus’ prophecy in Mt 24:9

Mt 24: 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.”

People don’t volunteer to give up their right to their belief system and they don’t give up their other liberties or their national identities easily. Only when people are hungry and scared and polarized by fear of a demonized ”enemy” will  they accept a government with a centrally planned worldview.  In these end times, even the most unlikely of allies will rally around the opportunity to attack the Judeo-Christian worldview and those who cling to it.

What will it take to get all nations to hate and persecute Christians (and/or Jews)?

  1. To get people to surrender their liberties requires suffering and fear brought on by awful calamities.
  2. To put in place a new world order, will require weakening the current world leader, America, considerably.
  3. To ensure compliance with the will of the NWO will require the centralization of the necessities: food production, transportation, and commerce.
  4. To spread their worldview will take an educational system that disallows parents from teaching their own worldview.
  5. To keep opposition to a minimum will require a radical committment to a collectivist approach which does not tolerate group identity or self-reliance.

Those who are still watching network news may not have any idea how much progress has already been made on items 1 – 5 so I will be posting a series of articles on this in the next few days.

In the meantime, let me answer the question more directly:

“How bad is it going to get?”

I think it will be as bad as it needs to be in order to fulfill Jesus’ prophecy in Mt 24:21

Mt 24: 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

How can telling people that things are going to get real bad be helpful? Let’s look to Jesus for our answer.

Jesus said: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation —but be of good cheer—I have overcome the world” John 15:33

Do you notice the THAT in the sentence? He told you that tribulation was coming so that you could have peace. He didn’t want you caught of guard or disappointed because you were expecting an easy, prosperous life without trouble. He wanted you to know what to expect so you could be prepared to handle what was coming. Like the bridesmaids that had lanterns but no oil (MT 25), there will be many who are simply unprepared for what is coming.

Mt 24: 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other

Jesus warned about the coming tribulation because he doesn’t want anyone to fall away in the tribulation. He wants us to follow his principles and his leading. He wants us to stick together, to stand for righteousness, to bravely resist evil in all its forms.

Sometimes I get frightened as I read the Bible, and as I look in this world and see all of the tribulation and persecution promised by the Bible coming true. Now I can tell you, though, if you too are afraid, that I have just read the last pages. I can now come to shouting “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” for I have found where it is written that Jesus said, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things: and I will be His God, and he shall be My son.” This is the future and hope of this world. Not that the world will survive – but that we shall be overcomers in the midst of a dying world. Open your eyes wide, face your fears head on. Get ready to abide in the secret place and to shine like the light of the world in the midst of deep darkness.

Like it or not, you were born for such a time as this…
