Should churches and pastors influence elections?
Pastors and Churches clearly have a desire to make the world a better place for believers and unbelievers alike. The scripture teaches that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice (Proverbs 29:2).
So why aren’t Pastors and Churches more active in the political process and in ensuring that those who get elected are righteous and principled?
Most Common reasons for not being “Political”
1) UNITY – “Our job is to shepherd people not drive them away by talking about divisive issues like politics.”
2) SURVIVAL – “Our Church is having a tough time surviving as it is, I don’t need the threat of an audit from the government on top of my other challenges.”
3) SUBJECTIVITY – “My political views would not line up with the views of many in my congregation so I keep them to myself and just stick to the Gospel.”
While I certainly can empathize with the plight of the modern pastor or church board, spiritual principles speak to these objections.

How then shall we live?
A one world government is trying to emerge. Powerful corporations, central banks, secret societies of uber-wealthy elite have been centralizing power from behind the scenes for decades. They are now openly using political ideologies and tension between economic class, religious worldviews, and ethnic groups to set the conditions for worldwide feudal system where they are the only rulers. They offer a world where dissent, liberty, and organized resistance are not just forbidden, they are crushed ruthlessly. In short, the fate of the quality of life, the religious freedom, and the very lives of future generations rests on us and how we handle the question:

Civic Duty of Believers
What are the two topics that polite people do not bring up in social circles ? Religion and Politics right? Sometimes I wonder who came up with that rule. Clearly there are topics where it is easier to agree. How many people would argue over whether it was hot or cold, sunny or rainy? Sticking to common ground is safe, or so it would seem.
In actuality, there are forces of evil in the world. There always have been and there will continue to be evil forces until the Lord returns and punishes them and their followers. Until then, we can choose to do nothing, and evil will prevail or we can do something. We can engage in the battle for the minds of our children and neighbors.
Now it is time for the righteous to rule. Stand up, be heard, rule well.
“When the righteous rule, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” –Prov. 29:2

If you can gain your freedom..
Plato said “The price good men pay for indifference to political affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” It is time for believers to rediscover their civic duty to “select capable men and let them serve”. It is time to reject the cocktail party mentality that we should check our spiritual and political worldview at the door, that religion and politics are off-limits for polite conversation. It is not time to surrender or stick our heads in the sand, it is time to take Paul’s advice..
“If you can gain your freedom, do so!”
