How then shall we live?
A one world government is trying to emerge. Powerful corporations, central banks, secret societies of uber-wealthy elite have been centralizing power from behind the scenes for decades. They are now openly using political ideologies and tension between economic class, religious worldviews, and ethnic groups to set the conditions for worldwide feudal system where they are the only rulers. They offer a world where dissent, liberty, and organized resistance are not just forbidden, they are crushed ruthlessly. In short, the fate of the quality of life, the religious freedom, and the very lives of future generations rests on us and how we handle the question:
How now shall we live? Continue reading

Bulk Foods
“In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.” Proverbs 21:20 It is just a fact that stuff happens periodically. We have grown accustomed to power, money, safe neighborhoods, … Continue reading

Time to gather stones together…?
As I ponder the deteriorating condition and the direction of the world around us I am conflicted. In me there are two strong motivations.
As a believer I want to change the world, to win souls, to fulfill the great commission. To do this I feel I need to stay plugged into our modern society with all its flaws and risks. But as a husband and dad, I want to provide for and protect my family. In the face of a looming economic collapse and a government that is leaning towards tyranny where economic and religious freedoms are being lost rapidly, I am tempted to retreat from society to a safer place and a simpler life where I am less dependent on the world system. My conflict is not to be unexpected since Paul was clear that . . . to read more ->http://durablefaith.com/2010/06/02/time-to-gather-stones/

What does Jesus think of victim disarmament? (Gun Control)
Jesus was actually pretty clear on self-defense, telling his disciples: “If you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one..”Lk 22:36 Many Christians wonder, why would he say that? Doesn’t he know that a child could get … Continue reading

Is playing with fire the new normal?
In retrospect, its easy to reflect on the situation and conclude that he should have seen the warning signs. He should have sensed the escalating risk and removed himself from the precarious situation.
Why is it that prudence in assessing risk (balaam’s donkey) or bold action in mitigating risk (joseph) is celebrated in scripture but scorned in modern christian life?
Has playing with fire suddenly become safe? My friend with 3 fingers on his right hand certainly doesn’t think so. Continue reading

Invisible, forgotten, and in serious decay
“There are 16,000 publicly owned wastewater treatment plants in the United States that operate 100,000 major pumping stations, 600,000 miles of sanitary sewers and 200,000 miles of storm sewers, according to U.S. EPA. That system received a grade of D- from the American Society of Civil Engineers in its latest “Report Card for America’s Infrastructure.”
The report underscores the challenges large cities will face in the coming years. If you are in a large city, not only are you dependent on others for your water, you are dependent on aging, forgotten, decayed infrastructure that has insufficient budgeted for maintenance…
Makes me think twice about the proverb that states “drink running water from your own well…” Continue reading
