Glenn Beck’s advice on preparing for collapse

Glenn has so many statements on so many topics that I doubt there is a person on Earth, (including Glenn), that agrees with him on everything.  I certainly don’t agree with him on everything.  But this is a good 15 minute segment on how to think about the future and what to do about it. I recommend you invest 15 minutes and watch it.

Save Money and Health with Homemade Granola

20120514-163012.jpg
This is a simple recipe I created based on several I found on the Internet. The options for granola are near endless. You could add seeds, nuts, dried fruit, peanut butter, substitute maple syrup for honey, etc. This will give you a good base to work with.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups of old fashioned rolled oats. I used organic oats from the Bread Beckers.
- 3 tablespoons of sugar or brown sugar. I used organic cane sugar from Domino.
- 3 tablespoons flour. I used freshly ground hard red wheat from the Bread Beckers.
- 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- 1/3 cup of honey. I used local honey. Be careful where you get your honey.
- 1/4 cup butter. You could substitute vegetable oil. I used butter made from “Beyond Organic” cream from Full Circle Farms.
- 1 egg white. Pastured eggs are the way to go. Read about them here.

Mix all ingredients except egg white in a large bowl. I used a metal bowl and placed it all in the oven for a few minutes to melt the butter. I then added the egg white and stirred thoroughly.

Spread the mixture thinly on a baking sheet.

20120514-165050.jpg
Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes and then stir the mixture. Bake for another 10-15 minutes. When it is near done it will begin to smell wonderful. Don’t let it completely brown or it may taste burnt. Remove from oven and allow it to completely cool. If you put it in containers before cooling it will not be clumpy. If you desire unclumpy granola, leave out the egg white.

Enjoy!

How to respond when Romney asks you for money…

Today I got mail from Mitt Romney, who according to the media is the heir apparent to the GOP nomination for the 2012 elections. Although Mitt can’t win his home state, can’t get the delegates to vote for him, and can’t get people to attend his campaign events, the media continues to message the inevitability of his nomination.

Romney’s letter swelled in american patriot ethics about free markets, limited government, and a return to our core values. Pardon me while I puke. Jesus said that he would “spew out of his mouth” (Rev. 3:16) the lukewarm and he said that the double-minded man (James 1:7-8) should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Given Mitt’s track record of voting for big government solutions to problems that are not within the limited government confines of the enumerated powers of the constitution, Romney has no right to expect anything from me or from constitutional conservative voters.

But before I acted in haste in responding to his mailer, I paused to consider how I might wisely “make the most of every opportunity” (Col 4:5). Romney has taken on our language and he is courting our financial support and votes. What might entice us to consider his advances? If Romney wants to be taken seriously, he will need to take bold decisive actions demonstrating that he has more than words to offer.

Obama, his apparent opponent, has triangulated that he needs to energize minorities and the homosexual community in order to win and he has taken bold opportunisitic moves to get their votes. Recently he has stirred up racial tensions by his adminsitration’s involvement with Treyon and immigration law.  And he is stirring up homophobic tensions by his position switch on gay marriage followed by releasing the hounds on the story about Romney bullying gay classmates. Excellent clock management.  Well played like a wiley serpent.

How can Romney show the wisdom of a serpent while clinging to the innocence of doves (Matt 10:16)?

Romney needs to embrace some doves…

If Romney wants one cent or one vote from constitutional conservatives, from libertarian independents, and potentially from anti-war democrats, he needs to nominate a person with the last name “Paul” to be his running mate. Either Ron or Rand Paul will do. If Romney is seriously trying to win, he will do this. If he is merely providing a false choice for a pre-negotiated bi-partisan arrangement for an Obama 2nd term, he will not. It’s that simple.

I will print this and mail it to Romney for President in the envelope they provided along with a recent letter from Ron Paul thanking me for my financial support.

Will you consider doing the same when Romney asks you for money?

As a point of clarification, a brokered convention is looking more likely  in which case Paul may secure the GOP nomination. And failing that, he could still opt to run as an independent. I am not going to rush to throw my support behind Romney even if he announces a Paul VP pick, but that is the starting point for any conversation between the Romney camp and myself.

New study on Amish shows how raw milk promotes health in children

Reblogged from The Bovine:

From Rady Ananda, on Food Freedom News

“An international team of researchers recently confirmed that children who drink fresh milk – unprocessed and unpasteurized – have a better immune response to allergens and are far less likely to develop asthma.

Researchers from Indiana, Switzerland, and Germany ran surveys and tests on Swiss and US children aged 6-12 years and submitted their results to the

When the government pursues policies that seem illogical and counterproductive, assuming innocent motives is to disagree with God about the sinful nature of man. To ask hard questions and to seek truth even though it be unpopular and unsettling is the proper response.

The internet is littered with stories of “chemtrails” and geoengineering to combat “global warming” and until recently I took these stories with a grain of salt. One of the main reasons for my skepticism was that I rarely saw what they were describing in the skies.

How to stop the terrorists for good…

Proverbs 28:1  “The wicked flee though no one pursues,  but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

Who is behind most (if not all) thwarted terror events on US soil?

Quotes From: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/guest-post-yemen-underwear-bomb-and-other-hobgoblins

“Today it was widely reported that the CIA thwarted a “plot by al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen to destroy a U.S.-bound airliner using a bomb. The truth was finally revealed as the would-be bomber was, in fact, a double agent of the CIA.”

“Paul Craig Roberts documentsin regards to attempted terrorist attacks since September 11, 2001:  If we look around for the terror that the police state and a decade of war has allegedly protected us from, the terror is hard to find”

“An investigative program at the University of California discovered that the domestic “terror plots” hyped in the media were plotted by FBI agents. For example, the Washington DC Metro bombing plot, the New York city subway plot, the plot to blow up the Sears Tower in Chicago were all FBI brainchilds organized and managed by FBI agents”

Why are your tax dollars being used for entrapment?

The famous Randolph Bourne quote “war is the health of the state” is often invoked as a simple dictum to demonstrate the irrefutable connection between government usurpations of authority and organized combat on a massive, industrialized scale.  Almost any respectable writer, historian, or economist will cite the phrase when addressing the topic of warfare.  That’s because in just seven plain words the mentality and violent temperament of those who sit at the state’s controls are defined so explicitly, it completely disrobes the glory and prestige too often associated with bloodthirsty crusades of patriotism.

Murray Rothbard recognized the underlying immorality of the government’s war machine complex when he wrote:

It is in war that the State really comes into its own: swelling in power, in number, in pride, in absolute domination over the economy and the society.  Society becomes a herd, seeking to kill its alleged enemies, rooting out and suppressing all dissent from the official war effort, happily betraying truth for the supposed public interest.  Society becomes an armed camp, with the values and the morale—as Albert Jay Nock once phrased it—of an “army on the march.”
How can we stop terrorism?
We stop surrendering our rights everytime the government stages a terror attack.
We stop electing people who believe that having US troops on foreign soil is “defense”.
We call for immediate transparency of funding and the use of funds on defense organizations.
We work towards eliminating the 3 letter agencies: DHS, TSA, IRS, FBI, CIA
We choke the financial support for standing armies and never ending wars.
We work to return the scope of the US FED govt to the enumerated powers.
We strengthen the independence and autonomy of state governments in matters beyond the enumerated powers as outlined in the tenth amendment.
We repeal the 17th amendment and go back to a senate that is selected by state governments.
We eliminate gun registration and we encourage widespread gun ownership and militia participation.
We replace the supreme court with a trial by jury, that is to say, we decentralize justice.

A few quotes from founder Thomas Jefferson:

“There are rights which it is useless to surrender to the government and which governments have yet always been found to invade. These are the rights of thinking and publishing our thoughts by speaking or writing; the right of free commerce; the right of personal freedom. There are instruments for administering the government so peculiarly trustworthy that we should never leave the legislature at liberty to change them. The new Constitution has secured these in the executive and legislative department, but not in the judiciary. It should have established trials by the people themselves, that is to say, by jury. There are instruments so dangerous to the rights of the nation and which place them so totally at the mercy of their governors that those governors, whether legislative or executive, should be restrained from keeping such instruments on foot but in well-defined cases. Such an instrument is a standing army.”

~Letter to David Humphreys (1789)

“None but an armed nation can dispense with a standing army. To keep ours armed and disciplined is therefore at all times important.” ~Written comment (1803)

“The supremacy of the civil over the military authority I deem [one of] the essential principles of our Government, and consequently [one of] those which ought to shape its administration.” ~1st Inaugural (1801)

“Standing armies [are] inconsistent with [a people’s] freedom and subversive of their quiet.” ~Reply to Lord North’s Proposition (1775)

“Bonaparte… transferred the destinies of the republic from the civil to the military arm. Some will use this as a lesson against the practicability of republican government. I read it as a lesson against the danger of standing armies.” ~Letter to Samuel Adams (1800)

“The Greeks and Romans had no standing armies, yet they defended themselves. The Greeks by their laws, and the Romans by the spirit of their people, took care to put into the hands of their rulers no such engine of oppression as a standing army. Their system was to make every man a soldier and oblige him to repair to the standard of his country whenever that was reared. This made them invincible; and the same remedy will make us so.”

Mothers threatened with criminal charges plan to openly defy MDA

Farmer Charged Criminally for Providing Fresh Food to Mothers

Minneapolis, MN—Several Minnesota mothers who organize community access to local fresh farm foods plan to risk criminal charges by openly and publicly defying warnings from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA).  The MDA has threatened several mothers, conducted investigations against them and sent them warning letters that if they continue helping provide fresh food to their friends and neighbors, they will be subject to criminal charges and prosecution.

This is the question many people are now asking after a recent study conducted by scientists at the

Be fruitful and multiply

Today i am blogging from a labor and delivery room looking at my amazing and beautiful wife. We have many hours to go and for now at least, she is comfortable.

I am aware of the miracle and wonder of pregnancy and am floored by God’s intelligent design of mothers.

Family is nearby taking care of our kids so that we can be together in this amazing moment. Support systems aren’t just for hard times, they make good times better as well.

As we prepare to welcome a newborn into the world, lots of thoughts swirl.

Though it seems the world is changing and devolving quickly, jesus said ‘in this world you shall have tribulation’ so it shouldnt be unexpected and in truth, its not new. Our newborn will face a different set of challenges than his mother and i grew up with, but he will have the same promise of a savior counselor ever present to help.

We didnt set out to get pregnant this time, but we rejoiced when we got the news. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. How could we even think to question his purpose for this child or his timing? We cant and dont.

We anticipate God’s provision for his purpose, provision, and protection and we seek wisdom and discernment that we might fill our role in his life appropriately.

As we navigate the medical establishment’s process for birthing and documenting the birth we have a plan. We are thankful for doctors and pain management and for the expertise to navigate some risk factors. We will be turning down vaccine and abstaining from the near mandatory citizen numbering permission form.

We are mindful today of God’s instructions and how they contrast to the instructions and policies of the emerging new world order government

God says be fruitful and multiply, the nwo considers overpopulation the greatest risk to our planet.

God says raise up a child in the way they should go, the nwo says the government decides policy and worldview of children.

God says we are his workmanship created for good works, the nwo says we are global citizens whose purpose is to produce and consume in a transactional model which strengthens and reinforces their control of the planet.

I am thankful today for clarity. I am not adding a citizen an entitlement or a consumer. I am welcoming a child of God which I will train to follow the teachings of Jesus.

I will train him according to the golden rule which jesus said waa a fair summary of how to fulfill the revealed will of God.

I may think differently than many people but i suspect my preferences on how i should be treated are similar to most.

I dont want to be forced to financially support something i am morally opposed to.

I dont want to be frisked, surveiled, repressed, or denied free speech.

I dont want the benefit of my labor and innovation to be involuntarily redistributed, i like to give freely and generously.

And so I must assume others do not want to treated this way either.

I will raise my son to love God and neighbor and to refuse to be a tool in the hands of tyrants. If the lack of a social security card is an inconvenience, if private food production and barter are illegal, if living by conscience is outlawed, if forced military conscription is used to wage offensive resource wars, if i am yet alive… I will remind him of a question jesus asked and of the answer He provided

What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul?

Overcome by the blood of the lamb, the word of your testimony, and by loving not your life unto the death

I will say to him:

Welcome to earth son, its a beautiful place we get to live for a while on our path to heaven, our true home. Earth has lots of sinful people in need of a savior. It is both wonderous and dangerous. But our time here has a purpose and a focus.

Your time on earth is not about your survival, prosperity, enjoyment, or comfort. Your time here is about bringing God glory. We bring God glory by following his commands and shining our light into the darkness. When our time here is done, we want to hear ‘well done faithful servant’ from our heavenly father. spend your life and time in pursuit of that and make your mother, father, and heavenly father proud. I know you will…
